Snow Day in Salt Lake City

Received a call to visit my aunt in Salt Lake City and took the first flight out. Spending time with family is something I’ll always be thankful for.

Family Celebration!

My brother recently graduated from the corrections academy and became a correctional officer! Along with this news, I was recently hired as a flight attendant! Our family vacation was originally to have a comfortable stay while at my brothers graduation ceremony, but since we both scored awesome jobs it became a family celebration. Kudos to him on his success and finding his forever job! I could not be more proud, he has always been a huge inspiration in my life and I felt he was going somewhere. His girlfriend recently got hired as a high school counselor so I am completely excited for their future. Such a power couple.

People are Beautiful

I wanted to take a moment to express how much I appreciate small business Twitter culture. This past week I saw 2 small businesses grow when customers took it upon themselves to post a few tweets about the places. Both were very humble families who did not ask for the posts, users of Twitter then took initiative to share the posts by retweeting. It’s beautiful to see people working as a community by passing the news along without anyone asking for it. After coming across the post, I took a visit to this nursery (one that was shared via Twitter). He was tremendously sweet and in turn I ended up walking away with 6 new plants. I showed him the post a previous customer made about his nursery and he was taken back. He does not have social media and was shy to the idea of taking a picture with me, but finally did before I left. He then thanked me and I thanked him. I wanted to add to the momentum by saying if you’re into plants and live in Southern California’s Inland Empire or surrounding areas, please buy your plants and trees from this man. His store is called E St. Garden Center and is located at 3293 N. E St. San Bernardino, CA 92405

Graduation Season

Last night my cousin graduated from high school! This was a huge success for him and our family. It was great spending time with everyone, some of the guests I have not seen for years! The ceremony was beautiful, and afterwards we had dinner reservations at a Mexican restaurant. We exchanged gifts, shared laughs and had plenty of drinks. I’m so excited for him and his future. I reminded him that whatever he wants to do in life, do it. Don’t stop for anyone. Chase the money and the honey will come (advice I wish I listened to in the past), because life is always moving and it does not stop for anyone.

Best of luck,

Michael.

Kara Mendez

Meet Kara. I’ve known her since middle school. She’s a bright girl with so much enthusiasm she’s amazing to be around. One day I asked her to come over to my house and we shot these images. It was a very impromptu moment. I think I sent her some samples of how I wanted her hair and told her to do natural makeup. We shot these in my makeshift studio in my bedroom and surprisingly they came out amazing!
